>Baby Bonding

>So far baby bonding has been pretty amazing. It’s great to be able to spend time with Loren and watch her change every day! It’s amazing how far she’s come in just 11 short weeks!

The last two days have been a little challenging. First we had to get rid of our cat Orion. He truly wasn’t getting the love and attention he deserves and a new home is what will be best for him. I’ve been much more emotional about it than I anticipated. It makes me cry just typing about it! We did find a great guy to take him…he’s the only pet so he should get all kind of love.

Today was exhausting. I felt a little hungover from the emotional day before AND Loren decided that naps are for the weak. For the last two days she’s napped at the minimum level for her survival apparently. I never will understand why babies fight sleep! She would only sleep on me, as soon as I moved her she would wake up and the naps ALL DAY totaled around 75 minutes.

Needless to say I’m not to the point where I’m eager to be a stay at home mom, but on that same note I’m not looking forward to going back to work.

The journey continues…

>Adoption Update

>So, Loren and I took a field trip to the courthouse this week to submit all of the adoption paperwork. So we are making progress.

The next step is the interview with the social worker. Why don’t I have any social worker friends who can give me some insight on what this interview entails? What I do know is that all three of us must attend.

The social worker (Nancy) can take up to 45 days to submit her report, which I understand they are very busy and the 45 day time-line is likely! (CRAP!)

THEN (once I get rave reviews from the social worker…) we make an appointment with the court and we should be done…

There you have it…for now!

>Happy Anniversary

>Happy 2nd Anniversary to my honey!

10/10/08

10/11/08

(Dont we look WAY skinnier? I’m just saying…compliment away!)

No anniversary post would be complete without a conversation from marriage…

Yesterday we took my little brother (who’s visiting from Mississippi) to the Santa Monica Pier….we stopped so he could get a liquid refreshment and this conversation occured.

Dar: Blah blah and blah blah blah
Mel: {interrupting} Smile like this {shows me smile}
Dar: {smiles as instructed…}
Mel: Humph…your bottom teeth are pretty crooked…
Dar: Umm thanks?
Mel: I’ve never noticed.
Dar: Why would you…we’ve only been together 5 1/2 years.
Laughter ensues…end scene.

>Got Your Nose

>I love this tiny little hand.

Her hands are just as expressive as her face is …she streeeeeetches with her hands, she “helps” me feed her by putting her hands all over the bottle, she also holds her ear (A LOT!) when she eats, she sleeps with her hands on her face and she steals my nose all the time!
